ChaBaD’s strange interface of very public and very private.
We insist on the public Menorah; and light our own Menorah ‘on the Table’ is there a way to reconcile these two extremes?
1) Public celebrates Yiddishkeit, makes Yidden proud, and actually reduces anti-Semitism.
2) The lighting of our personal Menorah is done very privately.
Some things are too deep to be shared and that is the eternity of the Jew. In the words of the RaMbaN הנרות הללו אינן בטילות לעולם.
