Class One/ Five (המשך). This first class on the second מאמר of this המשך begins with a discussion on דעת and it’s unique properties. It is, on the one hand a כח בכלי which is limited and, manageable, but on the other it is the נפש’s ability to connect and feel on all levels. This מאמר underscores the idea of רחמים מצד המורגש as an illustration of דעת although רחמים שמצד הרוממות is a higher level, but it doesn’t connect as דעת does. This is true not only of דעת תחתון but of דעת עליון as well; it is even true of the third idea raised later in this מאמר, the idea of תכלית הידיעה שלא נדעך.
Class One
Class Two/ Six (המשך). This class discusses יחודא תתאה and its connection to דעת תחתון. The level of אחדות which can be thoroughly understood and affects (only) ביטול היש. The example brought for this is דיבור which is entirely חוץ לנפש.
Class Two
Class Three/ Seven (המשך). This begins with the very deep discussion of the idea our מאמר introduces, that מחשבה is a לבוש המיוחד עם הנפש far beyond the כחות הנפש. As such it carries ideas that don’t yet exist as actual ideas. This becomes the background to return to the point of this class in context: how יחודא עילעא is grasped in דעת עליון which is really higher than reason, but has to do with הפלאה and knowing things on a level of אור.
Class Three
Class Four/ Eight (המשך). This last class on the second מאמר of the המשך talks about a third level of אחדות and יחוד which is held on a level of דעת, which is even higher than דעת עליון. This is the idea of תכלית הידעה שלא נדעך and this can also be known in one’s essence [like the idea of לולי ידעתיו הוויתיו]. The class finishes with a brief discussion on the beginning and the end of the מאמר. He explains that the two levels of כח מעשיו הגיד לעמו and החודש הזה לכם are like יחודא תתאה ועילאה and דעת תחתון ועליון and argues that not only does the lower level need the higher level but the higher level also needs the lower level, which is why the Torah begins with בראשית and not with החודש הזה לכם.
