03. Lihavin Inyan Shmini Atzeres ViSimchas Torah 5714, Class Three.
This, third, class on the Ma’amar deals with the Yom Tov itself:
1) Hashem hides, so that we should look for Him; so the concealment isn’t really about concealment it is about reversing it.
2) When we accomplish this we give Him much joy, as per the Possuk, בן חכם ישמח אב (the truly intelligent son never stops seeking his gather).
3) This process and success is revealed in the Simcha (meaning revelation) of Sukkos; but it happens in three steps: A. Sukkos (revealed but not pure Light), B. Shmini Atzeres (the pure light is revealed, but it remains hidden), C. Simchas Torah (the purest of light is absolutely revealed).
In other words: A. Sukkos revealed but nit a lot; B. Shmini Atzeres a lot but not revealed, C. Simchas Torah a lot and t is revealed.
