04. True Freedom (155); The second day (4), Likutei Sichos vol. 31 page 93 ff. Class Four. Mechilta: woman first softly and the foundational ideas; the Rebbe explains why. The Midrash sees the telling woman ‘only’ the rules as a deficiency; while the Mechilta (which this Sicha revolves around) sees it as a strength. Why woman are exempt from Positive Mitzvos connected to time (מצות עשה שהזמן גרמא), according to the Midrash (weakness) and according to the Mechilta (a strength).
