09. Hashem Melech… Machon LeYahadus (5782/ 2021) Class Nine.
[continuation from class eight, explaining all five Pesukim in sequence:]
3) We begin explaining these five Pesukim as a sequence (see next class).
A. השם מלך He IS a King now.
B. והי’ השם… in the future He’ll be more of a (revealed) King.
C. הושיעינו וגו’ וקבצנו… We PRAY for this to be manifest.
D. In three steps: 1) הודאה- להודות לשם קדשיך; and 2) הילול- להשתבח בתהילתך; and 2) ברכה- ברוך השם…
These three are from the outside (הודאה) to the inside, the deepest being ברכה.
These three steps can be seen as “going from the honest to the ideal” meaning: we start off relating to Him as HE serves US and gradually go towards appreciating that the greatest thing HE gave us is the ability to serve HIM.
E. כל הנשמה תהלל י-ה הללוי’ה a universal praise for every breath (see class 11).
