05b. Lihavin Inyan Simchas Torah 5735, Class Two. This class includes the beginning and the end of the Ma’amar. It deals with the question of Jews adding Joy to the Torah, based on the idea (of the first class) Jews adding holiness to the (already holy) name of God. The higher source of Jews allows them to add Godliness to the Torah, as it says by Dovid: דוד הי’ מקשר תורה שלמעלה עם הקב”ה; and this applies to each Jew. In a similar way, Jews can add joy to Torah. One of the details that are a bit unclear is the argument that there is a difference between the Joy we add to the Torah on Simchas Torah vs. how it is all years. I taught it this way: 1) All year we serve God with Joy; and on Simchas Torah the service is the Joy itself; 2) All year Jews add to the Torah as the third knot in the triad תלת קשרין אתקשראן דא בדא but on Simchas Torah the three become one through the Joy of Simchas Torah ועצ”ע.
