08. Ma’amar Adna”i Sefasai Tiftach 5712, Class Eight; Perek Two (05)- Perek Three (01).
This class is the beginning of the discussion on ‘Tefilla Arichta’; that in Davening itself there’s a kind of Tefilla which is like Hashem Davening and we respond to Him.
The Rebbe explains this by first discussing how in Torah there is Tal (dew) and Matar or Geshem (rain); the first is from heaven (unconditionally) to earth, and the second rises up FROM THE EARTH and comes back down.
The two ideas of מורשה קהילת יעקב (Torah is an inheritance to each Jew) and התקן עצמך ללמוד תורה שאינה ירושה לך (Torah must be earned as it is not an inheritance).
In the beginning of Chapter 3 (the division of the Perakim seems a bot odd) he continues using two Ma’amarei ChaZaL: 1) כל הקורא ושונה הקב”ה קורא ושונה כנגדו (when we learn HE repeats after us); 2) ג’ שעות ראשונות הקב”ה יושב ועוסק בתורה (the first three hours of the day [that correspond to ג”ר דעתיק] HE studies Torah (by Himself)).
The Rebbe argus, just as Torah has two levels so does tefilla also have the level of ‘The Top Down’.
