Vialeh Shmos 5736. The Rebbe said ten Ma’amarim Vialeh Shmos, and for the most part they all speak to this Ma’amar as it is the Torah Ohr. The idea is that there are two Yeridos (ירוד ירדנו) and there will be two Aliyos (ואנכי אעלך גם עלה), and in general this is the original Galus and the all the remaining Galus culminating in this one. The argument of course is that the challenges of Galus (materially AND spiritually) get us to a much higher level: revealing שמו הגדול; which is how the Rebbe HERE explains the need for the words ואלה שמות (here and in Vayigash). The Galus’ challenges brings us to the greater light, and the garment to ‘hold’ this light is also from the Galus itself.
