16. Note to Basi Legani 5722 and 5742. (Both these Ma’amarim are on the Basi Legani 5710 Perek 12). This 40 minute note (approximately) is mostly on Basi Legani 5722, but the last 9 and a half minutes are on the Ma’amar of 5742 and is also included here. The idea that אור אין סוף is מעין המאור and has the qualities of עצמות, is linked to the idea that the רמ”ק holds that אין סוף means עצמות. On this the Alter Rebbe said (דרך מצותיך קל”ו, א) that it means יכולת. Near the end of this Ma’amar (5722) at the Perek 5 the Rebbe brings this idea of יכולת in the name of the Rebbe RAShaB and uses the idea of יכולת which has no מציאות in עצמות at all to explain the true notion of אור אין סוף including all of עצמות even the idea of אין לו תחילה.
