18c. Vayedaber Elokim 5714, Class Three.

18c. Vayedaber Elokim 5714, Class Three.
This class has two parts:
Part One addresses the following question: why do we consider the Torah of the Avos inferior due to the fact that are ריחות (like a smell with no substance) when Kabbalistically the olfactory sense represents the highest levels of the Neshama (that is altogether separate from the body) and of Elokus?
The Rebbe discusses the idea of הארה (or as we explained it הבלים) vs. עצם (and מהות). The highest הארה is exactly that only an הארה with no עצם or מהות, this is why the Avos ריחות is considered inferior.
He explains all of this using the difference between נבואה and רוח הקדש as his basis.
Part Two is the beginning and the end of the Ma’amar, explaining why the Divine name Elokim is used here etc.
