23. Yom Tov Shel Rosh Hashana Samech Vov; Third Round, Class Twenty Three.
1) What changes from before the Tzimtzum to after the Tzimtzum (though before the Tzimtzum there is already כח הגבול and כח הבלי גבול the source for light and vessels) is the separation of the Light from the Vessels at the point of the Tzimtzum, so that when they rejoin, it is the joining of two separated things, creating a reality we call a world.
2) The Avoda of Dira BiTachtonim involves bringing back all the Ohr (beyond the Kav which reappears naturally) into the מקום החלל in affect reversing the Tzimtzum altogether.
3) The question is what is gained by bringing back the SAME Ohr into this ‘space’?
4) The answer is (twofold: firstly, now the worlds exist, secondly) the Ohr fills the worlds (without them being Bittuled by the great Light).
