23a. Ish Yehudi 5736 (Purim Ma’amar) Class One. This class (first half of the Ma’amar) addresses first of all that to understand Mordechai(‘s name) you must appreciate that he is a Galus “Rebbe” (אכתי עבדי דאחשוירוש אנן) and this is why his name must be בן יאיר בן שמעי בן קיש. Mordechai’s personality is the basis of all that he achieves. It’s his refusal to bow to anyone (but God) and in this he is unwavering and unchanging not-withstanding how circumstances change. From this he draws the strength to Daven בן יאיר that Hashem shine light of Chochma on him and us; the prayer on this level is basic, as a slave before a master. The inspiration on this level is seminal, like Chochma very inspired but not detailed. After that the is the prayer on the level of בן שמעי Bina where he asks for very specific things as they come down in the Brachos in the center of Shmone Esrei, and for us it is that the Godliness that reaches us is detailed and departmentalized. But even that is not enough, there’s a need for infinite prayer and inspiration, and this is בן קיש pounding on the divine door and accessing infinite light מפנימיות הכתר. On this level we can kill the Yetzer HaRa and even transform him -permanently- to good. This results in Jewish emancipation that ליהודים היתה אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר.
