Kol Dodi 5736 (1) Shabbos HaGadol This Ma’amar explains the ‘need’ for Hashem to ‘jump’ and get us out of Mitzrayim after 210 years, because we made our situation much worse (ירידה גדולה ביותר למטה ממה שהי’ צריך להיות) that we wouldn’t have survived [and would have been many MORE years than the original 400], so He jumped and reduced it to less 400 years. But they are very different years. We must apply our finger to this unilateral leap, through our Mesiras Nefesh, by taking the Korban Pesach on 10 Nissan. 1) The meaning of the ‘jump’ if from very high (הוא ושמו בלבד; בכבודו ובעצמו) to very low (ופסח הוי’ על הפתח). 2) The tiny contribution we make in leaping ourselves through the Mesiras Nefesh on the 10th of Nissan; and we draw this strength from על ההרים והגבעות the merit of our holy ancestors. Though His jump is higher even then they are מדלג על ההרים מקפץ על הגבעות, still we do something (מעין ודוגמת ההמשכה). 3) The exodus after 210 years is a leap due to the additional Yerida against the planned exodus after 400 years (in Hishtalshelus).
