33. Vayomer Lo Yehonasan 5736 This is (sort of) a Ma’amar within a Ma’amar. The beginning and the end is the typical מחר חדש Ma’amar, based on the earliest Rabbeim and the Rebbe MaharaSh (from תרל”א and תרל”ו) explaining how the Bittul (כי יפקד מושביך) brings the renewal, the ‘Moled’ (ונפקדת). However, in the middle the Rebbe brings (from מים רבים תרל”ו from one hundred years before) the idea of אם אין יראה אין חכמה אם אין חכמה אין יראה and explains this as the lower Yirah bringing Torah and Mitzvos, and Torah and Mitzvos bringing the higher Yirah. He explains this in Torah (1- learning to know what to do; 2- learning Lishma for Torah’s sake) and Mitzvos (1- doing them with deficient Kavana; 2- doing them ‘Lishma’). But when he joins the two discussions together, he adds the idea that the lower Yirah and the lower Bittul (which is the level of Dovid HaMelech) has an advantage over the higher Yirah and Bittul. This is due to ושלשת תרד מאד Dovid comes down till Asiya and serves Hashem with all three poles (ושלשת) and as a result he achieves אבל האזל from Asiya there is מהלך real motion.
