45a. Atem Nitzovim 5734 (Class One) This class is on the beginning of this Ma’amar (which we will learn in order IYH). Question: why mention both the Jews as a unity (אתם נצבים היום כולכם) and as separated groupings (ראשיכם שבטיכם וגו’ מחוטב עציך עד שואב מימך)? [Answer: This parallels the duality described in this Ma’amar 1) there is a world (כדמותינו or the 10 groups of Yidden) and there is Godliness above the world (בצלמינו or כולכם). Both these ideas co-join on Rosh Hashana (which makes them in this aspect) higher than Mattan Torah when there were different separations and barriers between groups of Yidden. The Shabbos before Rosh Hashana we read this no as an אתערותא דלתתא but as creating the אתר שלים on which this great revelation can manifest.
