The idea is that the oath (made before we’re born) requires that we try, והשם יעשה הטוב בעיניו Hashem can do whatever He wants. And on a higher level, there’s the idea of habit (of being Tzadik-like) becoming second nature And on an even higher level, the efforts of attempting to be Tzadik-like (serving Him with emotions,) may result in an event called עיבור (adding from another Soul) that will add to the Benoni’s condition a level of רוח which allows one to actually be a Tzadik.
