Introduction to Maamar Katonti with transition from Pada BiShalom and explanation regarding the background of the Katonti Maamar. This class covers a very small part of this (rather long) Ma’amar; including only the very beginning and the very end. There are various levels of Shalom and accordingly various levels of Katonti; the higher the Shalom the deeper the Katonti.

The second part of the Ma’amar addresses the Gemara on the Possuk Pada BiShalom, which expands the Possuk to include all three poles: Mitzvos (Milchama -war- Mamosh) and Tefilla (Cherev Shel Shalom- “Sword of Peace”) and Torah (Shalom). We discussed the first two, and left Torah (Shalom) for class three IYH.

However, in Torah itself all three levels exist: A War- determining the credibility of a Machlokes and then determining the Halacha. B. War of peace- learning Torah to take the place of DOING a Mitzvah C. Peace- Pnimiyus HaTorah, which the Rebbe breaks down into several levels.
