Class One Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 1) Part One.
This one class was divided in two because of its length; but it is ONE class.
Part One: introduction, general background, two big ideas 1) Making Him a home, 2) It is accomplished by the Tzivos Hashem.
Part Two: Tzivos Hashem is connected to the divine name Tzvaos; but first the names of Hashem in general:
A. כפי מעשי אני נקרא is two opposites, in action His essence is revealed.
B. אליו ולא למדותיו according to the Baal Shem Tov, the Elokus of Keilim, also two opposites (see Maamar Vayehi Bishalach in this folder).
C. לא כפי שאני נכתב אני נקרא because Havaya, Etzem cannot be revealed; but it is revealed Yom Kippur, again two opposites together.

Class One Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 1) Part One (B).

Class Two Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 2) Part One.
This class covers 5 pages of the 2nd Basi Ligani 5721 (Motzoei Shabbos) but entails half of what the first class entailed.
It has a review of the earlier Perakim of Basi Ligani (Ch 1-10) and then he explores OUR Perek 11.
1) Tzivos Hashem have a name like His name צבאות although He won’t have this name for hundreds of years (after Moshe).
2) Before we speak of Tzvaos specifically we speak of Hashem’s names in general. He doesn’t have names that describe His essence, only HIS functions (relationship with us) but in each name and function HE is called forward: כפי מעשי אני נקרא in each עשי’ה the Truth of אני is accessed.
And specifically Asiya and Milchama (the name Tzvaos) as we will see later on IYH.

Class Two Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 2) Part One.

Class Three Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 2) Part Two.
This class continues the theme of there being two opposites in how Hashem’s names are manifest, to the extent that the only way to explain their existence is through the idea of Nimna Hanimnaos!!
1) אליו ולא למדותיו the Elokus of the Keilim, join with the Keilim with the Koach of Atzmus, thus the Alter Rebbe’s commentary that אליו ולא למדותיו actually means Atzmus.
2) The Maggid’s idea לא כפי שאני נכתב אני נקרא because we cannot know Atzmus; this also explains נגד שמא אבד שמא to reveal the lower the higher must be “lost”. The exception is Yom Kippur, which the Rebbe explains means the bringing together of opposites.

Class Three Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 2) Part Two.

Class Four Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 1) Part Two.
Second half of the Maamar is primarily about the difference between a war with a limited end (where settling and compromise are possible) and a war of victory (the King’s Will must be carried out).
The idea of victory is linked to Ishapacha and is possible only by very great kings who have a real מדת הנצח.
This IS the מלחמת בית דוד.

Class Four Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 1) Part Two.

Class Five Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 2) Part Three.
This class is on the (1st half of) the second half of the second Basi Legani 5721.
First of all we repeated how the first and second half of this Ma’amar share the property of bringing together opposites (with the power of נמנע הנמנעות!), in the first half in His names (as they involve themselves in much lower things; and only He can bring such opposites together); and in the second half in engaging in a war, Atzmus is elicited to win through מדת הנצח.
This part of the Ma’amar speaks of the two types (or degrees) of wars (struggle) in the first winning partially is a victory and in the second where it is about the WILL of the warrior (the “King”) he either wins absolutely and in each aspect (His “will” is seen through) or it is not a victory.
The three levels of צבאות השם and צבאות and השם צבאות are introduced.
הוי’ צבאות descends and wins on the level of Iskafia; צבאות wins absolutely, Is’hapcha, higher than both is the Bittul of the name צבאות to הוי’ה.
The connection to צדקה עשה הקב”ה לישראל שפזרן and צדקת פרזונו ישראל.

Class Five Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 2) Part Two.

Class Six Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 2) Part Four.
The war of Beis Dovid (bringing Moshiach, but where there is still opposition) on both fronts: A חרפו אויביך הוי’ה and B חרפו עקבות משיחיך requires Mesiras Nefesh: גט כריתות כותב לאשתו.
This war doesn’t have a big and a little, a major and a minor, everything is absolutely important.

Class Six Basi Ligani 5721 (Ma’amar 2) Part Four.

Class Seven Vayehu Bishalach (Shabbos) 5721.
This was said in between the two Basi Ligani Ma’amarim that year.
We learned the entire Maa’mar.
Pharaoh helps Yidden, by accompanying them out of Egypt; giving them sparks of holiness they may have left behind and the power for Teshuva.
The constant in all the points in this combining opposites בכח נמנע הנמנעות to bring together G-dliness and the greatest darkness; so Pharaoh helps (as he is the darkness).
