Boruch Hagomel 5737, Class One. This is a review of one of the Ma’amarim the Previous Rebbe said during the year of his arrest, after being told that he’s free to go home, and then again when he actually got home. This explains the Nusach of ברכת הגומל; and how and why it is different than the more typical Bracha: ברוך שעשה לי נס. He explains that this Bracha is (also) for the spiritual source of our challenges on the four levels (steps): 1) Illness= leaving Gan Eden, 2) Incarceration= entering the body, 3) crossing the sea= being unclear because of the confusion of the world, 4) surviving crossing a desert= lost humanity. These are four sequential steps in the Neshama leaving Gan Eden coming into the challenges of life. And יודו להוי’ חסדו ונפלאותיו לבני אדם He gives us the power beforehand to do all this.
