Lihavin Inyan Tishrei 5736. This is ONE LONG CLASS on a Ma’amar (perhaps it should have been done in two classes). Understanding Tishrei as a whole (rather than through it’s various days that are special) is achieved by studying it’s names: 1) Tishrei A. head B. release and atone, C. Master (King) D. Bring G-dliness down from the higher level פנימו לשון רבים. 2) Shvii E. Seventh are beloved F. It is sated מושבע with all blessings, material spiritual and actionable (עבודה) G. sates others משביע. In as much as we’re viewing the month as whole, each moment has ALL THE IDEAS of the entire month within itself, including the 30th day. Tishrei is each moment includes both the most spiritual and the most physical at the same time (as we see played out in the various Yomim Tovim of Tishrei, for example: A. Rosh HaShana B. Sukos, C. Shmini Atzeres. All this is achieved (not like ‘bred of shame’, but) through our own earnings and Avoda. The Avoda of this month is Achdus (as indicated in A. Rosh HaShana B. Sukkos, C. Simchas Torah). Tishrei then spills over and gives life to the entire year, in spite of the fact that other months have (different names and) different ideas and purposes. It spills over into bringing G-dliness down, as indicated in ויעקב הלך לדרכו And moreover through the idea of diversification and individuation, קשה עלי פרידתכם this purpose is realized ultimately.
