Likutei Sichos – Vol 19 p 158 ff. ‘Winds of Elul’.

Likutei Sichos – Vol 19 p 158 ff. ‘Winds of Elul’.
This short Sicha explores a poetic quote of the Previous Rebbe regarding Elul in Lubavitch;
It begins with explaining how all Yamim Tovim really start with Pesach, as everything we do He motivates, which is the theme of Pesach- ‘from the top down’.
the Rebbe then dissects and enlightens the precision in each of the four components of the saying.
1) The sun was still bright and clear- everything really starts from Above.
2) The air was different- the very fabric of reality had been altered.
3) The smell of Elul- is connected to Moshiach (as the end of Teshuva) who judges by smell.
4) The winds of Teshuva- the idea of רוח which is even higher than אור.
