Tanya Chapter 23, Class 5 (175). Beginning of the idea of Torah. Torah isn’t (only) a Merkava for Godliness, it is the Godliness itself. This applies not only to the ideas of Torah, but even the words of the Torah (SheBiKsav; as far as Torah SheBa’al Peh is concerned- עצ”ע). The oneness of the Torah and Godliness; and accordingly, the oneness of he who learns the Torah and Godliness is absolute. To represent it the Alter Rebbe uses two expressions: 1) בגילוי לגמרי and 2) בלי הסתר פנים כלל וכלל. We began exploring the need for both expressions and the advantage of the second over the first. We did also explain the idea, that the natural condition of Godliness IS TO BE REVELED and in Torah this nature is manifest.
