01. Lag Ba’Omer by the Rebbe, Class One. Two celebrations and their sources; how we know that these events happened on Lag Ba’Omer? 1) Reb Akiva’s Talmidim stopped passing away, is already recorded in the Geonim. 2) Rab Shimon bar Yochai DID pass away; (I believe) our earliest source is the AriZaL (who during his lifetime was a legend and not contended, due to his incredible Ruach HaKodesh). The irony of the whole thing: celebrating the end of death and the passing of a Tzadik on the same day. It is the difference between Nigla and Nistar. FIRE and Lag Ba’Omer.
