08b. Liosei Niflaos 5734 (Shabbos Breishis Hemshech to Simchas Torah), Class Two.
This (much shorter) class on this Ma’amar deals (only) with the (one) point of Shabbos Breishis.
1) As the end of Tishrei, it culminates all the Avoda of Tishrei, bringing ‘down to earth’ all that was inspired this month.
2) But there’s more: in one way Shabbos is higher than Rosh Hashana (and Rosh Chodesh), which is why it is not called ‘Rosh HaShavua’ (the head of the week).
2) Though it is dependant on the work during the preceding week and enlightens the next week, still Shabbos is completely beyond the time around itself as it is pleasure.
3) Rosh Hashana (is considered in THIS MA’AMAR) bringing worldly life to the world (!!!) and Shabbos is higher than that.
4) He equates it to the difference between basic life and sustenance (בורא נפשות רבות וחסרונן) and meaningful pleasure filled life (על כל מה שבראת להחיות בהם).
5) And Yidden can add even to Shabbos (again the idea of מקדשי שמיך) due to their roots in Atzmus. This is the level of לעשות את השבת which is higher than וקראת לשבת עונג.
