13. Tenu Rabbanan Ner Chanukah 5734
This Ma’amar (based on the אור התורה) addresses (specifically) the question of the Chanukah candles being on the left side.
He explains that Mitzvas Asei are from a lower level than Mitzvas Los Ta’aseh. This is why we access the Light of Mitzvas Lo Ta’aseh through inaction.
This is affective to address and destroy (and transform) Klipa עד דכליא רגלא דתרמודאי.
Chanukah candles is a positive action on the level of Mitzvas Lo Ta’aseh.
There is a parallel for that in Mitzvas Asei also: (1) מצות שכחה and (2) מצות התנשאות
This is linked to the RaMbaN’s idea that reference to eternal candles of Aharon (הנרות הללו אינן בטילות לעולם) isn’t about the candles in the Beis HaMikdash but the Chanukah candles.
