Biha’alosecha 08-11 What’s with Merori? A Thought and a Perspective (Yeshiva Achei Temimim 5782/ 2022)

Biha’alosecha 08-11 What’s with Merori? A thought and a perspective (Yeshiva Achei Temimim 5782/ 2022).
The question of parity is raised; why is Merori less than Kehas and (even) Gershon?
The world exists because of a lack of parity, what makes it fair is each person’s life against the possibility HE was given.
But still why is Merori not lifted up (נשיאות ראש) last week? And why is Merori’s תנופה (being lifted by Aharon) not considered for holiness?
We explored the three ideas of חיבוק (a hug represents Mitzvos, a meeting including one’s back, but it is external) נישוק (a kiss represents Torah, where one fills his own mind with someone else’s ideas; this is a stronger closeness) אתדבקות רוחא ברוחא (Enjoining two souls -or spirits- is extraordinarily deep, and is linked to Pnimiyus HaTorah).
Gershon is the hug; Kehas is the kiss and the meeting of Souls; but Merori is neither; so what is he?
Answer: the broken-heartedness before Avoda. This preliminary step isn’t uplifted because its entire idea is the opposite of upliftedness.
Hashem dwells with the broken hearted; a Jewish sigh is the highest teshuva and other such ideas and expressions explain this.
