6 Perek 3. Proofs that Atzmus was in the Beis Hamikdash. HaAras Ein Sof Baruch Hu is Ein Sof as it is revealed to something else. Atzmus Ein Sof Baruch Hu is Ein Sof in relation to itself. There are many levels of Ohr Ein Sof. The keli is the determinative factor in the degree of revelation. A lower world needs more revelation, but that means it is less True. Perek 3: Philosophers say that the revelation in the Beis HaMikdash is only a ziv (ray) and a HaArah and NOT Atzmus Ohr Ein Sof. The Rebbe says NO, in the Beis Hamikdash shines Atzmus Ohr Ein Sof, ie the Aibishter’s light as it is shining lifnei hatzimtzum, and he proceeds to bring several proofs. Proof #1: From the posuk itself. Hinei Hashamayim u’shmei hashamayim lo y’chalch’lucha v’af ki habayis hazeh (The heaven [Atzilus] and the heaven of heavens [kesser] can’t contain Him but He is here in this house.) This is to be understood not in a mode of questioning the possibility of the revelation, but in a spirit of amazement. Proof #2: Yirmiah 17:12 Kisay Kavod Marom Merishon makom mikdasheinu. Pirush Metzudas Dovid (One of the few kabbalistic pirushim quoted by the Rebbeim) read this like an Algebra problem. (Kisey = Malchus) x (Kavod= [gematria 32] = chochma = Atzilus) x (Marom = Kesser) = (MeiRishon = Before Time) = (Mikdasheinu) i.e. the light as it is in Adam Kadmon is what is shining in the beis hamikdash.
