Likutei Sichos vol 11 page 74 ff. Class Three. Introduction: the early history of Avoda Zara; bearing in mind that the greatest people lived FIRST; so the earliest versions of AZ were the most sophisticated. Yisro was a brilliant philosopher who was tapped into that, thus his being identified as כהן מדין (the Priest of Midian) is no insult. His coming was a transforming of Klipa and adding to the Torah!!!
