Sefer Shmos
Class Two. All travels were with “תערומת ומחלוקת” (Complaining to Hashem and arguing with one another) as they were moving so fast. Hashem has very high expectations and moves us very quickly, and when He forces the move upon them they complain to Him and argue with one another about the meaning of the move spiritually. They came to Rephidim, a place where “their hands became weak in words of Torah”, What does Torah have to do with hands? Torah isn’t knowledge, it is life (that includes ideas also) and if we don’t do the Torah, there’s something wrong with our Torah. A Rebbe pushes and that is his right (depriving a Yid of material pleasures) and role.
