Class 30

Page 51. Da’as Elyon is about depth, not height. Da’as Elyon brings The infinity of the soul into the body but in a manageable way. This means that although Da’as is infinite, it is nevertheless in a vessel that a man can manage and direct as he chooses deliberately. This is the meaning of what the Ma’amar says, when it argues that Da’as Elyon, follows the path of the three poles (ChaChaN, BaGaH DaTiY) rather than the order of the ten S’firos. And at the same time, it asserts that Chesed does not come from Chochma, and that Gevurah does not come from Bina. It has to pass through the order of Hishtalshelus, but it reveals something much higher.
