Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 1 (21). Beginning of Perek 3. Back to the Possuk, ואלה המשפטים אשר לפניהם means לפנימיותם, that Moshe must give us what we’re not getting by the virtue of (giving up direct communication with Hashem, and) not being Prophets. He gives us Da’as because of who he is. A”T from Ein Sof, Briah Yesh MeAyin, Atzilus from A”K Yesh MiYesh, Briah from Atzilus (again) Yesh MeAyin.
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 1 (21).
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 2 (22). There is another reason why Moshe could bring Da’as to Zera Behaima, and that is because they are עבד עברי. The idea of Ivri- from across the river, is higher than Bina and even Chochma. So, from Yidden’s end also, the idea of raising Yidden up is possible and sensible. So, there are two reasons why Moshe can give us Da’as: 1) who He is 2) who We are! Accordingly, עבד עברי includes ALL Neshamos of בי”ע (that will be discussed in the next Ma’amar יעוד ופדיון אמה העברי’ה) including עבד כנעני (עשי’) עבד עברי (יצירה) ואמה בעברי’ה that is from בריאה, because כי תקנה עבד עברי means נשמות that come מעבר הנהר which applies to all three categories.
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 2 (22).
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 3 (23). The Malachim and Neshamos both are in need of Da’as and they both get theirs by working together at Kedusha. Thought- Neshamos, Speech- Malachim, Action- Neshamos down here. Malachim are created on Monday and on Thursday (ועוף יעופף).
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 3 (23).
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 4 (24). Moshe is tasked to give Yidden Da’as in their mission. What IS the mission? שש שנים יעבוד ובשביעית יצא לחפשי חינם. Six thousand years of work, Mitzvos Birurim, which is connected to the idea of בא בימים (as we’ll explain in the next class) And the seventh millennia is rest, no Mitzvos; but as the Rebbe explains in the Sicha of Tishrei 5752 there are no מצוות but there are הלכות תורה שבעל פה שאינם בטילים לעולם.
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 4 (24).
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 5 (25). The idea of Ratzon (end of Ein Sof) carrying Noam Hashem (as discussed in Tanya Iggeres HaKodesh 29) was introduced to explain בא בימים- בההוא נהורין עילאין. Mitzvos carry Ein Sof (through the garment of Mitzvos) to Asiya and pass by Atzilus (that begins the idea of limiting it) it is therefore called יומין עילאין. Also: we have enough days for our mission.
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 5 (25).
Eved Ivri Perek 3, Class 6 (26). End of Ma’amar: if as explained, Moshe is the one instructed to do כי תקנה עבד עברי why is it a Mitzvah (in the תרי”ג) for all of us? The answer: He does the same Mitzvos we do, so by taking an Eved Ivri we encourage Him to take US as Eved Ivri.
