Hayom Yom 14 Menachem Av (Class Three). The end of this entry in the HaYom Yom is discussed, 1) The pen being a friend, just like (Chassidus explains) spoken words reveal more from the Neshama in terms of understanding; the same is true (and even more so) when one writes. 2) The written words are separate from the person, and the idea that they are also heartfelt (קולמוס הלב) is noteworthy. #storynote: At 33:00 there contains the story of the Rebbe Rashab in 1892 Parshas KiSavo working hard on “becoming one with” (nisatzeצ,) with a maamar of his father (The Maharash,) in order to feel comfortable to present this Chassidic Discourse (maamar) according to his standard of insisting he “has become one” with a maamar before saying it. In response to this effort, his father the Rebbe Maharash came to him on Friday night and rewarded him by taking him to listen on 18 Elul to Chassidus in the Baal Shem Tov’s heichal. This is where he got seven pieces of Chassidus from the Baal Shem Tov that he gave over after this experience.
