The Rebbe’s father. Born 18 Nissan 5638/1878 passed away 20 Menachem Av 5704/1944.
A great Gaon and Mikubal. He held the Rabbanus (Position of Rabbi) in Yekatrinislav (Dnepropetrovsk Ukraine) for thirty years. He was arrested right before Pesach 5699/1939 and was exiled for five years for the crime of upholding Yiddishkeit in Soviet Russia.
In the later years the Rebbe would write of his father Kvod Kidushas… and on occasion ZaTz”aL.
