(Fast of) Tzom Gedalia Shortly after the destruction of the first Beis Hamikdash the leader of the Jews remaining in the holy land was murdered. This resulted in the complete ousting of Jews from the holy land. This day is a fast day because it marks the end of the era of the first Beis Hamikdash.

Sukkos
The third of the regalim (holidays) celebrated annually in the Beis Hamikdash. It marks the highest point of joy in the Jewish calender mentioned in Torah Shebiksav (The written Torah). It celebrates (among other things) the end of the harvest.
