Class One Short version (overview) This is a very happy Perek, with four miracles: 1) The exodus from Egypt. 2) The birth of the Jewish nation. 3) Krias Yam Suf, the splitting of the sea. 4) Mattan Torah, the giving of the Torah. The first two are not questioned, the last two are; why?
Class Two (first two Pesukim). The first two pesukim are explained here. Yisroel and Bais Yaakov the difference; and accordingly a different exodus. The birth of the Jewish nation, we are called ‘Yehuda’ and ‘Yisroel’ And our nationhood is called ‘Holiness’, and ‘His (God) domination’.
Class Three (3rd Posuuk). “Hayom … HaYarden…” This Possuk is about Krias Yam Suf. Sea and River are Malchus and Bina, both conceal, one by completely covering, the other hides its depth by what it reveals. The revelation at Krias Yam Suf broke both levels of limits. The Possuk says הים ראה וינוס, the sea saw and ran. There are many interpretations of these words, the one we focused on is that the sea saw the remains of Yosef, which simultaneously speak to the perfect Tzadik and the (making of) Baal Teshuva. The מסירת נפש of Yoseph and the Jews leaving Egypt caused the miracles to happen.
Class Four (4th 5th and 6th Possuk). ההרים רקדו כאילים גבעות כבני צאן This Possuk is about further transformation in the world: [The third Posuk discussed the breaking of the הבדלות (separation) between the higher and lower levels including the land and the sea]. This (fourth) Posuk is about the breaking of the separation between the Creator and His world. At the moment He gave us the Torah the world showed its truth as a part of God. Each point in creation said אנכי וגו’. The first two miracles are about the Jewish people alone, the third and the fourth are about the revelation of God in the world. The first two miracles are not questioned. the third and fourth are questioned: מה לך הים כי תנס… Why is God performing miracles in the world. The answer will be because the point of the world is not only the Jew but דירה בתחתונים. This is why Hashem breaks the separations between levels and (even) between Himself and the world.
Class Five (7th and 8th Possuk). The answer to the question (in short) is that since the divine purpose is not only Yidden but the entire creation, so the miracles that affect the creation (at that time) create the precedence for the ultimate דירה בתחתונים. מלפני אדון, how this is different than אדנ”י, how they are different. חולי ארץ what does חולי mean and why the extra י.
