Beis Midrash Linashim: Short Version. עצביהם כסף וזהב מעשי ידי אדם …פה להם ולא ידברו, עינים להם ולא יראו ישראל בטח בהוי’ה

Longer Version Class One Introduction. This Perek in Halel, is somehow a combination of revealing the miracles of Hashem (which is what Halel is about), while at the same time describing a very difficult period in Galus. We ask him to show His hand and His favoritism towards us for His sake and not for ours. This class concludes with a very quick read of the entire Kapital.

Class Two. In this class we divided the Perek into seven parts. Two levels of לא לנו. The first one is to הוי’ה and the second is higher than that. כי אם לשמך for His name which is understood to mean one of several things including the בני ישראל. תן כבוד create a garment to reveal Your presence to the world. על חסדך ועל אמיתך 1) whether we deserve it or not, 2) on the level of חסד and also on the level of אמת.

Class Three. This class is on Pesukim 2-7. Three (plus one) levels: 1) Higher than Havaya, Chefetz which comes until Asiya, like Anochi which revealed itself in the Chanuka story. 2) Havaya, the God of the supernatural, that the Pharaoh denied and Moshe insisted on, He eventually destroyed Pharaoh and Mitzrayim. 3) Elokainu [Elokim] that is hidden in nature and revealed on בשמים as the Goy laments. (4) Below is the belief in idolatry, There are many independent gods. The Goy is either a fool or a philosopher, but in both cases, he is a fool, because his god is only about גשמיות and is therefore only עצביהם. We explain each idea accordingly: Not seeing, hearing, smelling, touching etc. How Klipa is lower even than when Hashem is concealed in nature.

Class Four. This class is on Pesukim 8-11. We explain the “blessing” we offer the idolater- to be like the gods he creates and imprisons himself to. We then explained the three of בית אהרן, ישראל and יראי הוי’ה. The Alter Rebbe connects them to 1) Torah SheBiksav and drawing it into Torah SheBaal Peh, 2) רעותא דליבא, and 3) [יראה [עילעא. We explained all three and then completed the first half of the Kapital. We also explained the words written by יראי הוי’ה that specify הקטנים עם הגדולים.

Class Five. In this class we discussed Pesukim 12-15. Hashem always remembers us always and He should bless us. All three levels of 1) Yisroel, 2) Aharon, 3) Yirei Hashem, The blessings. Heaven and earth, what is the purpose of everything.

Class Six. In this class we explored the last three Pesukim: 16-18. Heaven and earth, even the heaven exist for earth and man. After Mattan Torah Hashem descends to the earth. The living vs. the non-living, it is about what life is.
