In a word: Lashon HaRa is a bad thing.

Kapital 120 (5781/ 2021), Short Version (Class 2) Given on 11 Nissan, Beis Midrash LiNashim UBanos 770.
In this class we visited the Rebbe’s Sichos on the theme of שיר המעלות which to a great extent is the spirit of the next 15 Perakim of the Rebbe.
They mean raising onself above to the level of 15 (י-ה) rather than be involved intimately, which makes every Tzara so real and felt and burdensome. It allows us to be surrounded by Lashon HaRa to deal with it and not be consumed by it’s evil.
In a broader sense these Perakim will deal with going out of Galus, and as we do we are above it.

This class explores the Chassidus (Rebbe’s Sichos) for the Perek.
There are 15 שיר המעלות which represent י-ה as opposed to ו-ה or as apposed to the number 9 (a day has 24 hours, if 15 are for Torah 9 remain).
The basic idea is that these Perakim are about beiung above the world, even when there are hardships.

This must be done with Joy, thus they are all שיר המעלות songs of ascent.

These classes begins exploring the Pshat of this Perek.
The Tehillim is a compilation with subsections. These next 15 Perakim are probably the largest single grouping in Tehillim.
It is very positive and praise, even when dealing with hardships.
It is about surviving hardships (including this Galus that brings to Moshiach) that are compounded by Lashon HaRa (gossip).
The Perek is about the ills and never ending ripples caused by Lashon HaRa and how Dovid (Yidden) survive them.
But it remains a שיר המעלות a positive song: overcoming the challenges by raising oneself above them
