The Gemara about Chanukah goes off on a tangent about והבור ריק אין בו מים. The Rebbe shows it’s similarity to Chanuka.
Water (isn’t Torah itself, but) the Bittul in learning Torah, as was the Mesiras Nefesh of the Chashmonaim.
