Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, (Machon LiYahadus 5721/ 2021).

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class One (1).
The ladder of Tefilla; this is the end of the first rung: Hoda’a.
The connection between he first rung and Chanukas HaBayis (rebewal and initiation) will become apparent as we go.
This prayer was added to the Siddur within the last 500 years.
There is SOME variation as to where it is said, but it is always before Boruch Sheamar.

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class One (1).

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class One (2).
This second part of the first class was a first pass on the Perek inside.
We didn’t get past the first Possuk.

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class One (2).

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Two (1).

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Two (1).

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Two (2).
Who said it first?
Dovid escaping Shaul or Dovid surviving all his (other) enemies.
Esther and Mordechai surviving Haman.
Reasons for saying it (here and now)
1) About Shuls and the opportunity to pray in them
2) About Korbanos
3) About the Beis HaMikdash
4) About Moshiach
5) Or about the third Beis Hamikdash.

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Two (2).

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Three (1).
The final reason for saying this Pizmon and saying it here; is about ascention from Asiya to Yetzira.
The question about the number of words in the Perek (96, 96 or 91, 92) and what it means.
ואני אמרתי בשלוי בל אמוט לעולם good and bad serenity.

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Three (1).

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Three (2).
How Chassidus looks at Chanukas Habayis: Yechida and how it brings G-dliness forward.
The connection to Asiya.

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Three (2).

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Four.
Chanukas HaBayis celebrating Yechida: from far but a powerful Makif.
Mizmor vs Shir. Keli and Ohr, Malachaim and Neshamos; advantage of Neshama’s song.
Dovid HaMelech, who was he, great and greatly humble.
Meaning of Dovid singing about Yechida (Hodaa).

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Four.

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Five (1).
1st and 2nd Possuk, the Bittul of Dovid is the source of his greatness;
ארוממך “lowering Hashem to be above us”.

Mizmor Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Five (1).

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Five (2).
3rd- 6th Possuk.
הוי’ אלוקי וגו’ ותרפאני healing like Teshua; also weakening the animal Soul.
הוי’ העלית משאול… בור even in punishment the reward is right there, as he lowers us into a באר and not a בור.
זמרו להוי’ וגו’ לזכר קדשו whatever level we’re on we sing; either to הוי’ה or זכר קדש
כי רגע באפו חיים ברצונו בערב ילין בכי ולבקר רינה He is about life even when He punishes, and we know right away or almost immediately.

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Five (2).

Title: Refocusing the analysis on the core meaning of the Pasuk
Length:  48:52
Review: this Perek (the end of the Hoda’a stage in Tefilla) is like the idea of שמח נפש עבדיך or תענוג העבד הוא תענוג האדון ממש, that from the brokenness comes joy.
The joy of being Hashem’s servant.

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Six (1).

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Six (2).
Title: Lightning bolts or Sunshine?
Length: 27:19
ואני אמרתי בשלוי בל אמוט לעולם
The idea of things staying the same is either Klipa (רוה) or Liasid Lavo (when תענוג תמידי יהא תענוג), but now בל אמוט לעולם must be replaced by למען יזמרך כבוד ולא ידום הוי’ אלוקי לעולם אודך which is interpreted in Zohar to mean constant striving and reaching נהורא תתאה קרי תדיר לנהורא עילאה ולא שכיך.

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Six (2).

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Seven (1).
In this part of the class we reviewed what we learned to date: the celebration of Hoda’a.
Constancy in it’s two forms: 1) ואני אמרתי בשלוי constant serenity, (no work) versus 2) למען יזמרך כבוד ולא ידום calling and reaching forever upwards.
Sometimes wanting is having more than actually having.
This is Hoda’ah.
There are two types of “callers” to Him in submission the deserving (אליך הוי אקרא) and undeserving (ואל הוי’ [אדנ”י] אתחנן).

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Seven (1).

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Seven (2).
The help comes even if we don not deserve it, and much more so if we do.
מה בצע בדמי ברדתי אל שחת היודך עפר היגיד אמיתך On some level He needs us no matter what.
Therefore we follow up with שמע הוי’ וחנני הוי’ עוזר לי.

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Seven (2).

Mizmor Shir Chanukas Habayis Lidovid, Class Eight.
This is the last class on this.
We ask Him for Kabalas Ol and He gives us this Koach.
שמע ה’ וחנני- the Tzadik’s request; הוי’ הי’ עוזר לי- the common person’s request.
הפכת מספדי למחול לי- through the gift of Bittul.
פתחת שקי- the entrapment is overcome
ותאזרני שמחה- there is a girdle of joy.
למען יזמרך כבוד ולא ידום- never get what we want (but we have it in the want), but we never stop singing.
הוי’ אלוקי לעולם אודיך- no matter how much we internalize, there is still what is beyond that we submit to.
#storynote  58:07 Child Singer is taken on the road with the Kelzmer Troupe (yelling at him to be more liebedich)
#storynote 1:03:31 The Rebbe and Eli Wiesel “I will not teach you to cry.  I will teach you to sing”
