Rebbe MahaRaSh

The Rebbe MahaRaSh was the youngest of the Tzemach Tzedek’s sons born to him later in his life (when he was already a Rebbe).
He was born on 2 Iyar 5594/ 1834 and passed away on 13 Tishrei 5643/ 1882 in Lubavitch.
He was very close to his father, and an incredibly powerful personality who feared nothing, but impressed awe in all who encountered him (Jew and Gentile).
He suffered with health all his life and passed away at earlier age than any other Chabad Rebbe.
His times were most tumultuous and he used his charisma and powerful nature to help the plight of Russian Jews repeatedly during his (relatively short life). His son Rabbi Sholom Dovber succeeded him in Lubavitch.
