Tanya (4) Nefesh HaElokis This class includes an introduction to Perek 2, 3, end of 2, 3, Igeres Hakodesh 15, beginning of Perek 4. The Nefesh HaElokis. 1) The first big idea is the idea of חלק אלוק ממעל and ישראל עלו במחשבה and the relatedness of Souls, like the many cells that divide and diversify during pregnancy that are all connected to the first cell; the same is true in Neshamos. There are two expressions of this unity: A. Ahavas Yisroel (beg ch 32) and the Mitzvah of Dveikus through a Talmid Chochom (end ch 2). The Kochos (faculties of tools) are ten: 3 intellectual ones (explained at length in Ch 3) and the seven emotional ones (explained in Igeres HaKodesh 15). The Livushim: thought speech and deed (beg of Ch 4).
