Two types of faith, one makif, the other is also pnimi;
The Rebbe’s two functions:
1) עיקר ענין רעי’ מהימנא this is always the same: לזון ולפרנס את האמונה עצמה
2) תוצאת ענין רעי’ מהימנא this changes from generation to generation.
This division resolves the question of כתית ל)מאור)
The two ideas of כתית למאור; the second is novel and is rooted in the idea that all Jews need G-dliness fully revealed.
